Salary & Benefits:

CIRCA £90,000

This is an exciting time to join an ‘outstanding’, award-winning organisation in the role of Head of HR and OD.

If you are successful, you will be a key member of our senior leadership team and have close working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders; including the Chief Executive, Cafcass Board, Corporate and Operational Management Teams, as well as our Governmental sponsor department and Trade Unions.


You will be responsible for the design and delivery of leading-edge employment practices and innovative workforce strategies that drive improvement, attract and retain experienced staff, promote employee well-being and sustain high performance.


Reporting to the Director of Resources, as Head of HR and OD you will lead a talented, passionate and hard-working team based across England. You will have four HR Managers reporting directly to you, each responsible for parts of the service covering the full HR and OD remit.


To be successful in this role you will need to;


  • Be a Chartered Member of the CIPD, working towards Fellow status (as an indication of your commitment to your continuous professional development);
  • Have a proven track record of achievement in the HR leadership of a large and complex organisation, with evidence of achieving measurable personal impact, high-level outcomes and innovation through delivery
  • Demonstrate inspirational and motivational leadership qualities that support a high-performance, continuous improvement culture within your team.
  • Be creative and innovative in your strategic approach to maximise your resources
  • An excellent influencer who inspires confidence and trust with internal and external stakeholders through their personal integrity.

In terms of your location, as a national organisation with 30+ offices we can be flexible although there is a requirement for regular travel to our London office. We also have a significant HR presence at our National Business Centre in Coventry and at our Leeds office. As an organisation we utilise technology to its best effect, so that individuals and teams can communicate effectively and work remotely.
