A globally recognised UK university needed a Director for its University Museum. The post required a proven leader who could balance research, education and public engagement, while managing a high-profile institution with deep cultural and academic value.
McLean ran an extensive international search. The university, with 27,000 students and a turnover of more than £2.2 billion, wanted someone who could bring energy, experience and a strategic vision to the role. The ideal candidate also needed a strong research profile and experience of successful fundraising.
We engaged over 140 professionals from museums and cultural institutions worldwide. From 40 applicants, 12 were longlisted and six shortlisted. Final interviews were scheduled with four outstanding candidates. The process has been well received, and a final decision is expected shortly.
