Our Investment Banking team were asked by the Financial Institution Group (FIG) of a leading bank, to find their Head of Corporate Finance Iberia, following an internal move.
Our team mirrors the organisation of its clients by having a truly pan-European approach in each sector. As a result, we already knew most the FIG specialists focused on Iberia and were able to rapidly approach all of them and provide our client with a focused shortlist including the detailed profile of each candidate.
Our client made a selection of five candidates who went through a structured interview process organised with regional and sectorial managers across three countries. The quality of candidates was pleasingly high, with the client indicating that in an ideal world they would have hired two, possibly three of the shortlist. The successful candidate was an excellent appointment, but also pleasingly a diverse hire, which in a sector with poor diversity statistics, was a rewarding outcome.
Now, our client not only has a Head of FIG Iberia joining from a leading global competitor but also a female Managing Director, who will be a role model to encourage more women to pursue a career in investment banking.
